Constructed from solid wood, not plywood. It is comprised of individual precision-cut segments of North American white ash Lumber. These pieces of solid wood are joined together in a painstaking process using a minimal amount of glue which really allows the unique wood species to shine through in the tone of the instrument.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAfter all of the individual segments of Ash have been joined together, the shell is precision lathe into a perfect cylinder inside and outside. After that, the signature flowing Contours are hand lathed into the outside of the drum. These Contours are mainly for aesthetic purposes, giving the drum it's beautiful flowing and curvy look, while accentuating the depth of the Grain in the ash Lumber. There's also a minor Sonic benefit from The Contours in that the removal of Mass from the shell tends to dry out the sound of the drum a bit, and also lower its pitch naturally.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAs with all of our drums and listings shown, when you place an order with HHG Drums, \u003cb\u003eyour new instrument will be hand-crafted in house, from scratch\u003c\/b\u003e.
