We've made many snares out of white oak and found that it has a warm, woody, presence with a bright and clear attack. This works especially well in the context of snare drum, as it provides the definition, clarity, and responsiveness required to execute intricate, and dense patterns, but also the power, punch, and focus for a commanding backbeat.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis drum features our handmade wooden hoops. The hoops on this drum are made from solid white oak. Not plywood like Yamaha style wood hoops. In fact, the hoops for this drum came from the same tree, and board as the drum shell itself.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe oak hoops in concert with oak shell make for an incredibly cohesive instrument, both visually and sonically. The hoops help add to the warm wood tone of the drum, while drying up the notes slightly for a super clean and articulate sound. Not to mention the hoops have a mind boggling rimshot, and cross-stick sound.
