This gorgeous 14x7 figured mahogany stave snare drum shell can become your next custom snare. This listing is for us to take the shell you see in the pictures, and turn it into a finished customized snare drum made to order, just for you!

The shell is made from one of our favorite tone woods, figured mahogany. This incredible wood species is a fantastic choice for wood drums- 900 on the janka wood hardness scale. It grows primarily in Central and East Africa and is highly sought-after for its unique tone, density, and beautiful grain coloring. This shell is around .5" or 12.5mm thick, the combo of this shell thickness and this extraordinary tonewood will make for an absolutely fantastic sounding instrument. In our experience figured mahogany usually makes a snare drum that is very crispy and articulate, with incredible snap and punch- with the warmth and depth you can only get from mahogany.

The shell features a beautiful natural high gloss on the exterior, and a satin oil on the entire interior of the shell.

If you buy this drum today you get to choose what hardware plating will come with it. Pick from gold, chrome, or black nickel. We can even do powder coated hardware for an additional fee!

It will come with our signature cnc machined lugs, vintage style strainer, diecast butt plate, diecast air vent, diecast HHG badge, Evans Power Center Reverse Dot batter head and a 300 snare side head, 2.3mm triple flange hoops (diecast is an add on option also) and 24 strand Puresound custom pro snare wires, and of course a certificate of authenticity and rarity adhered to the inside of the shell- hand signed by Sam Thurau the lead craftsman at HHG.
