HHG drums 14x4.5 Curly Maple Stave 2020 Pearlescent Blue High Gloss Lacquer With Gold Hardware

Made from 100% solid wood. No plywood here! Hhg drums are built with Stave construction shells meaning that we use all the pieces of lumber, joined together into a cylinder rather than plywood. This eliminates almost all of the glue needed to produce the drum, which makes for a drum that will stay round for its entire lifetime, is incredibly durable, but most importantly sounds fantastic.

This drum is a 14 by 4.5 solid curly maple stave snare drum. You really can't go wrong with the maple for a drum. It's been one of the most widely used wood species in the drum building industry for a reason. It sounds fantastic, and if you take the time to handpick the figured curly Maple boards like we do, it can look absolutely beautiful as well! We dressed this one up with a pearlescent baby blue high gloss lacquer. There are three different shades of blue pearl powder mixed into the candy blue clear coat so that you can still see the beautiful curly maple grain, while having a bit of blue sparkle to the mix.

This drum features all Evans drumheads, a coated reverse Center power dot batter head, and a hazy 300 snare side head, pure sound custom Pro brass 24 strand snare wires, a vintage style strainer, single point low mass lugs, 2.3 mm triple flanged hoops, internal tone control mechanism,  diecast air vent, diecast butt plate, and a matching gold-plated HHG badge.

This is a classic hhg stave snare drum... tons of tone, articulation, and power. Sounds great in all tuning ranges, and would be perfectly at home in the studio or on the road.
