HHG Drums 14x6.5 Calico Walnut Stave Snare Drum, Satin Lacquer

This shell in this snare is handcrafted with integrity from the finest hand selected hardwoods. All HHG drums are built by a drummer for drummers. Our goal is to provide our customers with the most musical and articulate drums available today. This snare has some cool stuff going on under the hood. The shell has what we like to call integral reinforcement rings. This means that the Stave shell was made extra thick and then when it was turned into a cylinder, the edges of that shell were left thick, but the center of the shell was scooped out and turned much thinner on the inside of the drum. This allows for a very full full-bodied drum with lots of tone, that retains excellent focus, and also structural integrity 

It sounds great- nice warm, articulate notes, and a huge tuning range, sounds great tuned low, high, or anywhere in between. the rim shots on this snare are powerful and cutting, while keeping ghost the notes crisp - a true workhorse for studio work or live.

As with all of our drums and listings shown, when you place an order with HHG Drums, your new instrument will be hand-crafted in house, from scratch. The drum shown in the pictures was built for a customer, and now resides with them.
