HHG Drums 14x7 Canarywood Stave Snare Red Burst Smooth Satin Lacquer

A gorgeous stave snare drum made from a rare and beautiful exotic tonewood- Canarywood.

The shell is made from one of our favorite tone woods, Canarywood. This incredible wood species is very hard- a 1520 on the janka wood hardness scale. It grows primarily in Brazil and is highly sought-after for its rot resistance, density, and beautiful coloring. This shell is around .5" or 12.5mm thick, and the combo of this shell thickness and this extraordinary tonewood will make for an absolutely fantastic sounding instrument. In our experience Canarywood usually makes a snare drum that is very crispy and articulate, with incredible snap and punch.

We finish off the decadent shell with nothing but the best hardware. Our signature HHG Single Point lugs, diecast butt plate, diecast airvent, diecast bronze badge, rock-solid 2.3mm triple flange hoops, cast vintage-style strainer, and puresound snare wires, and Evans heads.

The shell features a beautiful natural to bright red candy lacquer burst in a smooth satin on the exterior. With a satin lacquer on the entire interior of the shell as well.

As with all of our drums and listings shown, when you place an order with HHG Drums, your new instrument will be hand-crafted in house, from scratch. The drum shown in the pictures was built for a customer, and now resides with them. We would love to build one for you!
