We always enjoy trying new techniques and materials at HHG, this is the latest result of us trying to push our skill set to become better drum builders.

The heart of this drum is a hand-rolled 3.5mm thick carbon steel  shell. The shell is made from raw steel flat stock that is rolled by hand into a perfect cylinder and then welded at the seam. The edges of the shell are a full baseball bat round over that have been sanded and smoothed to perfection. The shell features a deep and wide snare bed to accommodate any type of snare wires. Using steel in this way produces an amazingly bright, powerful, and responsive shell. The shell itself weighs in about 16 lb.

The shell has a chemically applied subtle rainbow patina with a thin coat of satin lacquer to prevent it from rusting or fading.

This drum features our signature heavy duty gear tube-lug. These lugs are incredibly heavy duty, made from the same carbon steel that the shell is made from, and individually CNC-machined and  chrome-plated.

This drum also features our heavy duty diecast butt plate, inde strainer, diecast air vent, aircraft grade aluminum CNC-milled internal tone control mechanism, puresound 24 strand custom-Pro brass snare wires, Evans drum heads, and of course our certificate of authenticity and rarity applied to the inside of the shell.

The sound of this drum is incredible. It has enough power, volume, and attack to cut through even the most aggressive of mixes. However, because it is made from incredibly thick steel, it doesn't suffer from any of the harsh sounds usually produced by steel snare drums. It is full-bodied, filled with tone, and punchy. It sounds amazing when tuned low with the muffler engaged for a very staccato fat snare sound, and it absolutely screams when you crank the tension up high and disengage the interna muffler.
